It Looks Like The Last Of Us 2 Is Happening
Good news for fans of The Last Of Us, which should be pretty much everyone who has ever owned a PlayStation 3 or 4; it looks like The Last Of Us 2 is happening!
According to the LinkedIn CV of former Naughty Dog employee, Michael Knowland, The Last Of Us 2 is very much in the works. Knowland worked with Naughty Dog as a lead character artist on Uncharted as well as working on “all things main and NPC characters” on The Last Of Us.
A recent update to his LinkedIn CV (see above, click to expand) shows that Knowland worked for a month “prototyping head sculpts” on The Last Of Us 2. According to NeoGAF, the listing was updated only recently having previously listed an “unannounced AAA game”, which is still the case on the profiles of other current Naughty Dog employees.
The Last Of Us 2 has never been formally announced or acknowledged to be in production by Naughty Dog or Sony, although the original The Last Of Us has been picked up to be turned into a movie.
With Naughty Dog probably focusing predominantly on Uncharted 4, it’s unlikely that we’ll hear or see anything of The Last Of Us 2 for some time. The original title, which originally launched on PS3 before being remastered for the PS4, received critical acclaim and maintains a stunning average critic score of 95% on Metacritic.
Are you excited for The Last Of Us 2 or more hyped for Uncharted 4? Let us know in the forums. Personally, I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on either of these forthcoming games!
