Liftoff: Drone Racing Announced For PS4 And XBox One
In September of 2018, LuGus Studios and astragon Entertainment published Liftoff: Drone Racing on Steam. It’s described as a sim racer….drone racing is an actual sport, something we didn’t know until now (but should have expected exists).
Now the game is coming to PS4 and XBox One, and will pack in all the features of its PC counterpart, along with a few new things. Customize your drone with hundreds of virtual parts and add-ons, then compete against other racers online for the best time. A new “assisted flight” feature is being added that will help newcomers get the hang of drone flying as a sport.
“Liftoff: Drone Racing will give drone enthusiasts on consoles the chance to experience everything the thrilling quadcopter racing universe has to offer from cooperations with established license partners to exhilarating races,” says Julia Pfiffer, CEO of astragon Entertainment.
If you’re visiting PAX East, you’ll get the chance to take the console version of Liftoff: Drone Racing for a spin. A demo will be on the show floor from February 27 to March 1, 2020. The game itself has no specific release date yet, but it will be coming to Playstation 4 and XBox One sometime within 2020.
In Liftoff: Drone Racing, console players will be able to experience all of the hallmarks of the exciting, high-speed sport. For starters, drones can be customized with countless licensed frames and parts, which allows pilots to squeeze every bit of efficiency from their humble creations.
