Kamala Khan’s powers is changed in Miss Marvel?

Kamala Khan’s powers in Miss Marvel seemed to be changed. This teaser showed a glimpse of her ability and it is nothing like the “embiggening” Ability she had in the comics.

Kamala Khan’s power as Miss Marvel is to stretch her limbs just like Mr. Fantastic from Fantastic 4. Miss Marvel embiggens her fists so she can grab things and have stronger punches. She also can shapeshift just like Mystique and Morph from X-men. In the first volume of Miss Marvel, Kamala Khan transformed herself into a Carol Danvers look alike because she idolizes her. In the upcoming TV series, she will try to look like her by buying a Captain Marvel Costume.

She is one of the newer faces in Marvel Comics because people can relate to her fangirl personality. Kamala is a superhero Geek who makes fan arts and writes fanfictions.  Whenever she meets a superhero, she asks for a selfie with them. Marvel Studios promised to keep that aspect of her personality but not her powers. Her comic ability may not be aesthetically pleasing but it was part of her charm.

They are going to give her an overhaul in the powers department. Instead of being stretchy like rubber, she will have the image construct projection similar to the 2016 reboot Powerpuff girls and Green Lantern. My theory for the change is to save the budget for CGI or they are saving it for the movie because she is also set to appear in the next Captain Marvel film. It is like making a Hulk movie but he doesn’t smash anymore. He will now shoot Ki blast like a Dragon Ball character. This is another case of producers having too many liberties to the properties they adapt. CW managed to afford to make CGI stretchy powers with their budget and this show will have a higher budget.
