Jurassic World: New Clip Shows Raptors in Action
One of the more interesting and exciting elements to the upcoming sequel, Jurassic World, is a subplot involving one of the franchise’s star dinosaurs, the velociraptors. In the film, main character Owen Grady (played by Chris Pratt) is an animal behavioral specialist hired by the park to train the raptors. However, he is even able to form a relationship with the raptors that is based on “mutual respect.” So he is not so much taming them but able to get through to them with his particular skills and expertise. In one new clip, he hast to do just that. You can check out the new video in the player below.
In the video, Owen goes into the raptor cage to rescue a worker who is accidentally dragged into the raptor enclosure during feeding time. Interestingly enough, it appears that Owen has given personal names to the raptors. He attempts to keep guard workers from stunning the dinosaurs using electric tranquilizing weapons, fearing that will destroy any trust he builds up with the creatures.
The latest sequel to the Jurassic Park film is directed by Colin Trevorrow. Original filmmaker Steven Spielberg returns as executive producer, joined by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley as producers of the film. Jurassic World is due out on June 12.
