JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean: The First female Jojo is now animated

Stone Ocean is finally an Anime series:

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean is the 6th install of the Jojo Franchise. The Joestar family lineage will now continue with Jolyne Cujoh. She is the Daughter of Jotaro Kujo and the 6th character to continue the Joestar legacy. (Yes she is named after that  Dolly Parton song) The Manga was published back in early 2000s to 2003 but it is set in 2011. We will finally see Smartphones in Jojo because the anime  adaptation will try to make it similar to the actual year. Jolyne will be the first female and only female to use the  Jojo mantle. She is influential to Japanese pop culture because its rare to see a female character leading a Shonen Manga. Street Fighter character Juri Han is slightly inspired from her.

One of the thing I enjoyed from the Stone Ocean Manga is Jolyne’s hero Journey.

I will not give spoilers but her character growth is fun to follow. Just like her Father, she will be stand user and  she will also use the signature quote. (ora ora ora) Not only Jolyne is the first female Jojo but most of her team mates are women, which is rare in the franchise.Ermes Costello is one of the most stand up lead characters because she is a character you will rarely see in Anime. Anime is popular in Latin America but Latinos rarely have representation. Ermes is that representation they are waiting for because she is one of the best written characters.

As 6th book of the Jojo series got animated the 8th one is close to the end. Let’s hope there will be a 9th Jojo and the legacy continues. Many people say Male writers cant handle writing female characters but Araki proved them wrong with this one. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean will be on Netflix this December 21.
