After dropping various teaser trailers online in recent weeks, Marvel Studios and Netflix have finally released the first official full trailer for Jessica Jones. You can check out the full trailer in the player below.
The trailer provides the first look of footage from the show of Mike Colter as Luke Cage. It looks the show will be pretty dark and grim. Jones (Krysten Ritter) looks to be a mentally damaged and borderline alcoholic private investigator trying to hang on to the broken pieces of her life that was shattered by Kilgrave (David Tennant). It looks like the implications of what Kilgrave aka The Purple Man is able to do with his mind control abilities is pretty nasty. It definitely looks like Marvel will not be abandoning the dark and gritty style of Daredevil. For this part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe it works, considering the roots of the Alias comics from which the series is based.
Marvel’s Jessica Jones premieres on November 20 on Netflix. All 13 episodes of the first season will be available to view at launch. Check out the official synopsis below:
“Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need…especially if they’re willing to cut her a check.”
