Introducing CY_BORG: The Followup To MORK BORG
Remember MORK BORG? It was Free League’s love letter to metal culture in the form of a tabletop game that took place in a gnarly occult world. The game was released early in 2020 and, despite the obstacles you’d think would keep it from selling, weathered the pandemic enough to make a sequel possible. Which brings us to CY_BORG!
Whereas MORK BORG took its inspiration from the metal music genre, CY_BORG is inspired by noise, industrial and underground hiphop. You and your friends play cybernetically enhanced misfits and outlaws in an oppressive technological landscape of systemic corruption, street violence, and even alien-worshipping cults (not the nice ones). The game is fully compatible with MORK BORG.
CY_BORG RPG is a messed-up mirror image of MÖRK BORG RPG. A game about climate collapse, out-of-control consumerism, the commodification of personal data, late-stage capitalism, transhumanism and senseless violence. Similar in tone and approach to game and book design but enhanced and augmented. Includes an introductory scenario and ≈60 random tables for your every cyberpunk need.
Free League is now working on the 160-page core rulebook that will drive this game, which uses a modified version of MORK BORG’s ruleset while adding elements like autofire, cybertech and hacking. Six optional classes will be introduced such as the Shunned Nanomancer, the Burned Hacker and the Renegade Cyberslasher.
And the Kickstarter is launching very soon. Mark your calendars for November 13, the day the campaign launches and we learn more.
