Meet IMMORTAL, a Kung-fu-Noir Action Game With a Traumatic Dev Journey

After a hard fought journey of controversy and struggle, this Kung-Fu-Noir game has finally emerged! Introducing the action packed video game, IMMORTAL: And The Death That Follows!

Crafted by the indie studio Mishura Games, IMMORTAL is a stylish action game that pushes you to the limits. Whether it’s through intricate combos, hopping around levels at break-neck speeds, or unleashing ultimate power at the cost of instant death, IMMORTAL has a lot to offer. All of this, packaged in an experience inspired by the Buddhist mythos.

Trapped in a prison, you must find your way out and escape while balancing your powers between the destroyer and creator. Along the way, you’ll come across inmates who you ca spare and add to your circle of allies. However, respect can be lost, as your style ranking reflects your abilities, and allies can leave if you don’t meet their expectations.

However, what got this game on the map wasn’t the fast paced gameplay, but rather the struggles the developers went through. This is a story of a team of creators pushed to their limits, with only their love of games and creation keeping them afloat.

MISHURA GAMES, AND THEIR STRUGGLES

The beginning of IMMORTAL’s development was not a happy one. The original team and founders abandoned a project with their previous company, due to the difficulties with toxic management. The development team would try to leave the company, and strike it out on their own in 2022 with IMMORTAL.

Unfortunately, they would face litigation and legal battles for rights over IMMORTAL from their old management. Mishura would face even more difficulty after their publisher would drop their contract, and leave them with little money. Even worse was that this was before the COVID investment bubble popped, and money was quickly becoming scarcer and scarcer.

Mishura would fight tooth and nail against the legal strife, finding and using what money they could to fight. All the while, they restarted the development of IMMORTAL from scratch, with new code and assets becoming the new focus. For two years they fought the against the storm, and eventually, that storm would finally cease.

The legal fight would settle in their favor, and they would get assistance in creating their project. After all of the strife, they weathered the heartbreak and strife to continue their dreams. They would prepare the creation of a Kickstarter to help fund IMMORTAL, leading to the current present.

Mishura Games will release their Kickstarter for IMMORTAL to the world on September 16. There will also be demo available day 1, for anyone to play, not just backers. It is a more unique demo, with dev tools and a guided tour to showcase the game to players.

I love a good underdog story, and it seems like Ok Chan-Mi is exactly that. Her determination to seek justice for her brother is admirable. Plus, the camaraderie between her and her new friends adds an interesting layer to the story.

Wow, this series sounds intense! I can't believe the main character's determination to uncover the truth about her brother's death. I'm rooting for her all the way. It's crazy to think one of her new friends might be involved in the murder. Can't wait to binge-watch this!I totally get why you rated it so high. The storyline is gripping, and the characters are so well-developed. Plus, who doesn't love seeing bullies getting what they deserve? It's satisfying to watch justice being served, even if it's just in a drama.

I binged "Revenge of Others" over the weekend, and let me tell you, it was worth every minute! The storyline is so gripping, and the characters feel like real people you could meet in your everyday life. Ok Chan-Mi's journey from grief to determination is so relatable, and her friendship with Ji Soo-Heon and Seok Jae-Bum adds layers to the narrative. And that ending? Talk about a jaw-dropping reveal! The way she navigates through high school drama while unraveling the mystery behind her brother's death is both heartwarming and thrilling. Plus, the chemistry between the cast members is undeniable. I'd definitely recommend this series to anyone looking for a binge-worthy murder mystery with a twist.

As someone who's seen their fair share of K-dramas, "Revenge of Others" stands out for all the right reasons. Ok Chan-Mi's journey is not just about seeking revenge but also about finding closure for her brother's death. The chemistry between the main cast members is palpable, and the plot twists kept me guessing until the very end. It's a binge-worthy series that leaves you wanting more, and I'm eagerly awaiting the next season.
