If Wishes Could Kill (2026) ~ There’s an App for Wishes, But It’s Deadly!

-

“If Wishes Could Kill” is a 2026 Korean drama, 8 episodes, categorized as Youth, High School, Teens, Horror, Fantasy, Supernatural, and Mystery, and streaming on Netflix.

SUMMARY: A mysterious app grants high school students their deepest wishes, but each fulfilled desire triggers a countdown to their death.

♦ Why Do You Need My Saju?

In “If Wishes Could Kill”, five friends discover a mysterious app. You know when people say, “If something sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t good?” Why do people always ignore that warning?

NOTE: The “saju” is the “four pillars”. It is the Korean system of fortune-telling based on the “Four Pillars of Destiny,” which analyzes a person’s birth year, month, day, and hour to interpret personality, fate, and life patterns.

Here’s the thing. If you’re going to grant my wish, then grant it! Why do I need to provide personal identifying details? Sounds suspicious to me. But that’s just me.

Yoo Se-Ah, Lim Na-Ri, Kim Geon-Woo, Kang Ha-Joon, and Choi Hyeong-Wook weren’t suspicious at all. At least, not at first.

But I Didn’t Mean Any Harm By My Wish!

In “If Wishes Could Kill”, five students become entangled in a deadly supernatural mystery after discovering a strange mobile application called Girigo (“to commemorate”). The app promises to grant any wish. However, each fulfilled desire triggers a countdown to the user’s death. It gets worse. The app is not just predicting death… it is causing it.

Choi Hyeong-Wook is the tragic figure in this storyline. His use of the app triggers consequences that ripple through the group. What happened to him made the others realize that a wish can produce unintended harm. One person’s wish can doom another.

Viewership and Rating:

My personal rating is the same as IMDb.

This excerpt from the DMT review says it best: “The high-school K-drama projects itself as a blend of horror elite Revenant and high school shows like All Of Us Are Dead and Night Has Come. To be fair, it’s not really like any of those shows, so in that way it’s quite original.”

To my surprise, viewers are already buzzing about a Season 2.
