Last year IDW started an anthology series of horror stories they call Dark Spaces. Each volume will contain one standalone character-driven story created by writers and artists that are fresh to the industry. Today IDW announced the second miniseries, Good Deeds, will be published later this spring. It follows the first mini in the series, Wildfire.
The story is about a mother and daughter who move to the historic yet remote town of St. Augustine, Florida and find it hard to fit in. Rebecca (the mother) and Cheyenne (the daughter) feel ostracized from the community, but perhaps that’s a good thing. Members of the town are staring to to die one by one, and no one knows why. Perhaps Cheyenne and Rebecca can get to the bottom of this supernatural mystery — before they become the next victims.
Dark Spaces: Good Deeds is written by filmmaker and author Che Grayson (Batman: Urban Legends) and drawn by Kelsey Ramsay (a comic about Joan Jett & the Blackhearts). Che’s resume is a lot more impressive than Kelsey’s; Che has written for IDW, Image and DC previously, as well as projects from Netflix, Blue Sky Studios and Nickelodeon. We’re not sure what makes them “fresh to the industry” but whatever.
The first issue of Dark Spaces: Good Deeds will be out May 17. IDW has provided three preview pages, and they look awesome:
