Hollywood Writers strike, How will it affect you?

The Hollywood Writers Strike of 2023 is a result of unfair treatment. Hollywood writers for television and movies had to repeat history. Many of us expected them to have lavish lifestyles. I mean work for Hollywood, the most significant entertainment industry in the world. Many Tv Networks, Film companies, and streaming services criminally underpay their authors compared to the amount they make.

Back in 2007, A similar strike happened, lasting up to 2008 for 100 days.

It is against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). That Strike led to Tv stations relying on Reality TV due to the production of scripted television got postponed. Many Seasons got shortened, and some show delayed production while other shows got canceled despite their popularity due to writers now being around. The State of California lost 2 Billion dollars back then.

All of the live Late Night shows stopped production because talk shows do have scriptwriters. The Writer’s Strike had handicapped the television industry. Talks show they can survive the three years of the Pandemic, but they can only function with the writers if the host can do impromptu hosting.
Shows under production will either have shortened seasons or, worst, stopped filming. If this Strike is as long as the 2007 strike, you must kiss some of your favorite shows goodbye, even if they are renewed.

Now Multiple Reality competitions are created out of nowhere because TV stations and streaming services must have content. We Have a Reality Show where celebrities will be “Sent to Mars” and a Cooking show where Drag queens compete. Casting reality contestants with over-the-top personalities is enough entertainment while writers are away.

So Why are the writers on Strike?

Well, right now, the television industry is different. Before, we just watched shows on Free Television, cable, and DVD compilations. Now we consume television ins streaming services. Many Streaming shows are mass-produced and renewed if they reach expectations. They get canceled if they don’t. Due to the changes in the last decade, Television Writers are now paid less; their payments decreased by 23%

Renewed TV shows are currently postponed due to the absence of writers.

My biggest fear is these shows could get canceled, Even if they are popular. I want these Billion dollar companies to give this writer what they deserve. Their requests are not unreasonable. They want a payment that can provide them with a decent living. Some people do not support the cause of the writers and think that companies should replace them with aspiring writers and Chat GPT. That is a very dark scenario that I do not want to happen.
Ultimately, the two sides will find common ground where both will be happy. I do not want to watch reruns and crappy reality shows on fall television.

he lineup is off the charts, right? I mean, KONOSUBA's back with its third season, and Date A Live V is bringing the heat. But wait, there's more! Viral Hit looks like it's gonna be epic, and Kaiju No. 8? It's making history with a global simulcast.

KONOSUBA's third season? Count me in! And Date A Live V? Sign me up for that drama. Plus, Viral Hit seems like it's gonna be a wild ride. But the cherry on top has to be Kaiju No. 8 making waves with its global simulcast. I've got my snacks ready and my binge-watching mode activated!
