Shortly following the announcement a post appeared on the PlayStation Blog with some new screenshots and information about the game too.
Until Dawn sees players control all eight friends who have reunited in a remote location, completely oblivious to the night of torment and terror ahead. The game promises to deliver a strong horror experience; developer Supermassive Games are working in collaboration with Larry Fessenden and Graham Reznick, who are veterans having written independent horror for both movies and TV for a number of years.
The game also promises that “things aren’t always as they seem” suggesting an interesting narrative, likely to merge the eight individual stories together into one terrifying experience. Until Dawn also has a star studded cast including Heroes alum Hayden Panettiere, Need For Speed’s Rami Malek and Brett Dalton, who stars in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. In the blog post, Supermassive Games promise that the star studded cast and “their incredible performances will connect you to your characters on a meaningful emotional level.”
Until Dawn was originally announced two years ago at Gamescom, as a PS3/PlayStation Move title, with the team moving forward and developing the title for the Playstation 4 and the Dual Shock 4 in mind now. The game has also been re-built from the ground up during that period, so don’t expect any shoddy ported controls but a complete and considered experience. The game will run using the same engine as the PS4 title Killzone: Shadow Fall.
We’ll have more on Until Dawn as and when we can, but for now enjoy the trailer above and have a look at these high resolution screenshots for the title.
