Games With Gold for April Revealed
As last month by Major Nelson, Microsoft has revealed the Games With Gold titles that will be available during April. The titles, which will be available to download for Xbox Live Gold members free of charge, range across a variety of genres. There will also be double the amount of games offered through the program to celebrate its anniversary.
Xbox One users will be able to download two games that are available throughout the entire month. One of these is the critically acclaimed platformer and role-playing game Child of Light. Featuring a battle system similar to those seen in JRPGs, it was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and built upon the same engine the studio used for Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends. The second game is Pool Nation FX, a brand new pool game that has not yet been officially released.
Meanwhile, Xbox 360 users will have the opportunity to download four titles at no costs. Available from April 1 to April 15 is the action-adventure title Terraria and the third-person shooter Gears of War Judgement. Terraria was first released in 2011 that drew particular praise for the large amount of gameplay offered to the player. Gears of War: Judgement acts as prequel to the Gears of War series and was the first developed without Epic Games taking a major role in its creation.
From April 16 to the end of the month Xbox Live Gold members will also have access to another Ubisoft Montreal game in the form of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, the last full entry in the series before Assassin’s Creed Unity. The last game offered through the program is Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel. This third-person shooter was poorly received by critics and followed the same formula used in other Army of Two games.
