Last year, Dune got people excited. We are supposed to see this movie last year but it was delayed because of the pandemic. Now that the economy is reopening, Dune will be coming to theaters!
Dune is Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel back in 1965 but the technology to adapt such a narrative is not available back then.
There had been multiple attempts for adaptations back then but most of them failed to deliver. One of them is a 10-hour film that got canceled because of the growing budget.
This trailer alone gave Justice to the Novel. Dune is set in the year 10,191. A future where humanity spread out throughout the Universe and colonizes different planets. Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) is the heir of the House Atreides. They are the rulers of the planet Caladan. He will try to unite the nomadic tribes of the planet so he will have control of the Dessert Planet. The trailer of the film is narrated through Chani’s (Zendaya) perspective. She is the Fremen wive or concubine of Atreides.
If this film will be successful, The other four novels might end up as sequels. I do hope this one will be a Successful franchise because people waited for almost half a century for it. Warner Media is confident that this film will succeed as they are already developing a TV series spin-off titled Sisterhood of Dune. That trust in this project makes me want to watch it more.
Aside from the stunning special effects and set, This movie has a high budget with all the big stars involved. The support characters are played by actors who are popular enough to lead their movies.
Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Stephen McKinley Henderson, David Dastmalchian, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem are also part of the cast.
Dune will be available in theaters and HBO Max this coming October 22.
