Free League’s Vaesen Is Free Through Halloween

It’s no trick — Free League Publishing is offering a real treat for its fans this Halloween, Today and tomorrow only, the digital PDF version of their tabletop RPG Vaesen is free at DriveThruRPG.com.

Vaesen was first introduced in 2020 and has since gained spinoffs and expansions (the latest expansion, The Lost Mountain Saga, launches tomorrow). The RPG’s world is based in Nordic folklore and the old myths of Scandinavia, as well as the creations of Swedish illustrator and author Johan Egerkrans. The game uses an adapted version of the Mutant: Year Zero engine, and the core rulebook was written by Nils Hintze who also wrote Free League’s Tales From The Loop.

In Vaesen, you and your friends play paranormal investigators in the 19th century who happen to be somewhat paranormal themselves. You have the gift known as “the Sight” which means you can spot extradimensional phenomena that would be invisible to most people. Usually, this will take the form of horrible monsters you’ll be forced to do battle with. But it’s all in a day’s work.

In dark forests, beyond the mountains, by black lakes in hidden groves. At your doorstep. In the shadows, something stirs. Strange beings. Twisted creatures, lurking at the edge of vision. Watching. Waiting. Unseen by most, but not by you. You see them for what they really are. Vaesen.

Get your free Vaesen today and tomorrow only! Digital copies are unlimited. Follow this link for more.

I can't believe Free League Publishing is giving away Vaesen for free this Halloween! I've been a fan of their work for a while, and this is such a generous treat. Vaesen is a tabletop RPG gem based on Nordic folklore and myths of Scandinavia. The whole concept of playing paranormal investigators in the 19th century with "the Sight" is intriguing. It's like stepping into a world where you can uncover hidden phenomena and face off against monsters. Plus, the new expansion, The Lost Mountain Saga, launching tomorrow, is something I can't wait to dive into. I'm telling all my friends about this!

I've heard about Vaesen before, and I'm curious to know more about it. The idea of a tabletop RPG set in the 19th century with a focus on Nordic folklore sounds fascinating. I wonder how the game mechanics work, especially with "the Sight" ability. It's cool that Free League Publishing is offering the digital PDF version for free, but I'd like to learn more about the gameplay and what makes Vaesen stand out.

I can't believe Vaesen is free for a limited time! This takes me back to the good old days when I used to play tabletop RPGs with my buddies. I have fond memories of those adventures, and the fact that Vaesen is based on Nordic folklore and 19th-century paranormal investigators sounds like a blast. I'm feeling quite nostalgic right now, thinking about the epic campaigns and stories we used to create. Even though I might not have the same amount of free time these days, I'm seriously considering diving back into the world of RPGs with Vaesen. It's a great chance to relive those moments and make some new memories.
