It’s no trick — Free League Publishing is offering a real treat for its fans this Halloween, Today and tomorrow only, the digital PDF version of their tabletop RPG Vaesen is free at DriveThruRPG.com.
Vaesen was first introduced in 2020 and has since gained spinoffs and expansions (the latest expansion, The Lost Mountain Saga, launches tomorrow). The RPG’s world is based in Nordic folklore and the old myths of Scandinavia, as well as the creations of Swedish illustrator and author Johan Egerkrans. The game uses an adapted version of the Mutant: Year Zero engine, and the core rulebook was written by Nils Hintze who also wrote Free League’s Tales From The Loop.
In Vaesen, you and your friends play paranormal investigators in the 19th century who happen to be somewhat paranormal themselves. You have the gift known as “the Sight” which means you can spot extradimensional phenomena that would be invisible to most people. Usually, this will take the form of horrible monsters you’ll be forced to do battle with. But it’s all in a day’s work.
In dark forests, beyond the mountains, by black lakes in hidden groves. At your doorstep. In the shadows, something stirs. Strange beings. Twisted creatures, lurking at the edge of vision. Watching. Waiting. Unseen by most, but not by you. You see them for what they really are. Vaesen.
Get your free Vaesen today and tomorrow only! Digital copies are unlimited. Follow this link for more.
