Free League Publishing, the RPG wizards behind Mutant: Year Zero, Coriolis: The Third Horizon, and most recently Tales from the Loop, are about to publish their next RPG, Forbidden Lands. A crowdfunding campaign went up months ago, and it was the only manner in which to get in Free League’s list to receive an advance copy of the game.
Until now! The campaign is closed, that’s a fact — but Free League is giving their fans one last chance. If you sign up on this Pledge Manager page before September 1, they’ll put you on the prerelease list.
In Forbidden Lands, you and your friends will be playing raiders and rogues bent on making your own mark on a cursed world. Discover lost tombs, fight horrifying monsters, wander the wilderness and, if you live long enough, build your own stronghold to defend. The unique rules created by Free League for exploration, survival, base building and campaign in Forbidden lands play can also easily be ported to any other game world.
With the core set of Forbidden Lands, you will get the Player’s Handbook and the Gamemaster’s Guide, both in hardcover with leather and gold designs…plus a full-color map, a sheet of map stickers, and a booklet of tables. The most intriguing thing about Forbidden Lands is that the map you play on will change depending on your actions…some decisions you make may permanently affect the game.
In case you miss this opportunity as well, the wait won’t be THAT long — Forbidden Lands will launch in retail stores this November.
After some delays, Free League is finally ready to launch Tales From The Loop: The Board Game. If you think you’ve seen this before, you haven’t….well, you have, just not in THIS form. The Tales From The Loop board game is set in the same world as the roleplaying game,
The first thing you notice about Xenotheria, the card-combat RPG currently running its crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, is that it takes place on a desert planet and all the characters are fish people. You’d think they wouldn’t survive very long, but they’re all wearing elaborate suits which possibly keep them
