Kidd Video is a live-action/cartoon hybrid series that ran on NBC's Saturday-morning lineup from 1984 to 1985, with reruns continuing through 1987, for 26 episodes. It was produced by DIC Enterprises and Saban Productions.
The premise: four teenagers in a band are pulled into an animated dimension called the Flipside by Master Blaster, a villain drawn as a caricature of a corrupt music executive who wants them as his musical slaves. Rescued by the fairy Glitter, the band spends the series evading Master Blaster and his lip-synching feline minions, the Copy Cats, while helping the Flipside's inhabitants and looking for a way home. Each episode closes with a live-action music video performed by the real band.
The band members were played and voiced by the same performers: Bryan Scott as Kidd Video, Gabriela Nelson as Carla, Steve Alterman as Ash, and Robbie Rist as Whiz. Cathy Cavadini voiced Glitter and Peter Renaday voiced Master Blaster.
