Guy Gardner is a DC Comics superhero and Green Lantern, created by John Broome and Gil Kane, first appearing in Green Lantern vol. 2 #59 in March 1968. He was introduced as an alternate candidate to be Earth"s Green Lantern before Hal Jordan was chosen.
Known for his brash, confrontational personality, Guy stands apart from the more disciplined Hal Jordan and the measured John Stewart. He wields a Green Lantern power ring fueled by willpower, which can create constructs of solid green energy limited only by the wearer"s imagination and determination.
Guy has served with the Justice League International, the Green Lantern Corps, and briefly as the Red Lantern known as the Warrior. His abrasive attitude masks a genuine dedication to protecting others.
In the 2025 DC Universe film Superman, Guy Gardner is portrayed by Nathan Fillion.
