This is BS. Why the hell is YT doing this? I'm not promoting anything. Please try not to go to YT during Dec. 19-21. Make YT realize what they are doing is wrong.

Unless one of the sponsors Google is kissing up to shares the views of the people in this video.
 
Y'know, I have on idea why they picked the 19th. I support this but I have a feeling it won't reach out to everybody out there.

Exactly. The people who take YouTube seriously are very few compared to the millions that just casually use it to see the latest popular clips or whatever. And YouTube has all right to do whatever they want with their site, free speech doesn't exist when you're on the internet using a service that someone else pays the bills for.

As much as I don't like this move, YouTube is well within their rights doing this and I find it ridiculous that people are taking it so seriously. One day won't make a lick of difference. :/
 
This isn't just 6 people guys... this video is one of the most favorited, most discussed, and most popular videos right now. Sure, a successful boycott won't tank YouTube's viewer statistics, but it'll surely put a bit of a dent in it, and it gets a message across.

But then again YouTube is fucked up beyond recognition now... I can hardly say their management has the slightest clue wtf they're doing half the time and chances are this protest probably won't change their ways. But I'll support it anyways.
 
No it won't. Not in the least. And I know it's more than just six people, but it's not nearly enough to make YouTube care too much about this. If you can get the millions of people that view YouTube on a casual basis to care, then yes, they'll do something, a couple thousand dedicated users? No, it won't make a lick of difference. YouTube has been at the behest of their sponsors for the longest time now, they don't care about a dedicated base.
 

The nonsensical idiotic ramblings of a few net nerds with to much time on their hands is not going to make a bit of difference to youtube overall. Ryoutarou is dead on about this. It would be like saying people here are boycotting Power Rangers on tv for some stupid reason. yeah there are a few PR fans on HJU, but to the over all big picture it wouldn't matter at all.

I only watch youtube for the occasional Toku clip, video game movie, or if some one links to something on IRC. The people that spend their time uploading those user videos are IMO... Just kinda goofy. That is just my personal feeling on the matter.
