Your first anime

crap. i can't remember exactly the very first anime that i've seen! :shakefist

Technically, my first was Gatchaman in the form of Battle of the Planets. I just had no idea it WAS anime because I was very little. But I just knew *something* was different about it from other cartoons.

Later on like many I also watched Voltron, but again I didn't really know about anime. Later on I found out about anime after I had gotten into Area 88 and Heavy Metal Warrior Xenon mangas (some of the earliest to be brought over to the U.S.) but still had not really seen any except what was dubbed or hacked during my childhood. Around that same time a buddy of mine in school found out about a anime club at Virginia Tech and we went to it one night.

They were running Record of Lodoss War, BubbleGum Crisis, Dangaio, and Ranma 1/2 long before any of those had been licensed over here. I don't remember which ran first but it was definately a awesome experience.

The first anime I ever saw, back when I was a toddler, was Brave Raideen. (In NY, they gave it on UHF Channel 47 Telemundo's late night Japanese program in English subtitles.)

My first anime would be Dragon Ball Z, Voltes V and Voltron (if that's considered as an anime, though)

First anime-Gatchaman, in the form of Battle of the Planets-
First true anime(uncut), Space Pirate-Captain Harlock(the representation of cool!)

Dragon Ball Z back in 92

Astro Boy (the old series)

Voltes V and Ghost Fighter a.k.a. Yu Yu Hakusho, the greatest anime that aired in Philippine history, which leads to almost (I think) more or less 5 reruns.

Should be. Voltron was based on Golion and Dairugger XV.

Either way, Force Five kicks Voltron's ass for me.

My first without realizing it is unknown to me, but more than likely Voltron...........or Noozles (Can't believe that one got brought up.) But the first that I knowingly watched was Robot Carnival on Sci-Fi back when I was 10 in 1992. That same day I discovered my favorite anime to this day.......Vampire Hunter D.
