This year’s New York Game Awards were held last night and…if you can’t tell from the splash image, Astro Bot has another feather in its cap. The breakout hit took home three awards, more than any other nominated game, and only failed to win one of its nominations (Best World, which went to Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree). Side note, I’m currently playing through Astro Bot myself and it really is good. Speaking of the Elden Ring DLC, it was the only other game to be awarded more than once, taking trophies for Beat DLC in addition to Best World. Other winners of the night included UFO 50 for Best Indie Game, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s Troy Baker winning for Beat Acting, Metaphor: ReFantazio getting the top pick for Best Writing, and Best Remake going to Silent Hill 2.
