Huh? Not really. Just because something is popular that does not mean it is well written (just look at Twilight, Naruto, Gundam SEED), and unfortunately being well written does not automatically make something popular.

Gundam seed had a good beginning and it had good ideas, but those ideas were never used.

I had hope when I saw Kira sit down and rewrite the Gundam's OS. That gave me hope for a more thinking show, but then it turned into another whining emo brat show with robots. I quickly lost interest. Go-Onger started off kind of okay with a team not beholden to the tired emo characters, but then the story went nowhere and Sousuke got on my nerves fast. Plus, Oh my god those monsters are ugly and uninteresting
