Who Wants An "Erotic Thriller" M3GAN Spinoff?

Well, this is a choice. Blumhouse is the production company behind many recent horror hits both scary and silly, sometimes both at once — like when we got M3GAN. The scheming, boogie-dancing she-bot captured the hearts of the world and gained a deal for an immediate sequel (well, not IMMEDIATE). Even though we don’t have that sequel yet, Blumhouse is already thinking “spinoff.” And here’s where it gets weird. The proposed film is called Soulm8te (notice the 8), an “erotic thriller” set in the “M3GAN Universe” about a man who, like the creator of M3GAN, creates a robot to replace the role of a loved one. In M3GAN it was a little girl’s parents; in Soulm8te it’s a wife. He makes a robot wife and, of course, it goes wrong. “In an attempt to create a truly sentient partner, he inadvertently turns a harmless lovebot into a deadly soulmate,” says Blumhouse. The idea of a killer doll that stabs people is never going to be enough by itself (because you

I'm pretty stoked about this announcement. Blumhouse always manages to mix horror with unexpected stuff, and this new spinoff seems like a bold move. Soulm8te looks like it's going to explore a different kind of horror with an erotic thriller twist. The idea of a dude creating a robot wife that turns into a lethal soulmate could bring out some deep psychological and emotional themes. I'm curious to see how they handle the balance between horror and eroticism without it getting too over the top. If they can give Soulm8te a personality like M3GAN, it could turn out to be a really interesting movie.

I'm not sure how to feel about Soulm8te. While M3GAN was a fun and clever horror film, the concept of an "erotic thriller" spinoff feels a bit off to me. Blumhouse is known for their creative risks, but this one seems like it might miss the mark. What made M3GAN great was her unique character and the way she interacted with her environment. If Soulm8te is just going to follow the same formula with a new coat of paint that is more sexual, it might not work. I'll keep an open mind, but I can't say I'm excited about this one.

This movie sounds similar too the following movies:
T.I.M

and

Both are erotic horrors about companion robots

I'm really intrigued by the new announcement from Blumhouse. They always mix horror with unexpected stuff, and this new spinoff, Soulm8te, sounds like a bold move. This new direction into an erotic thriller twist is unexpected, but it could be cool if they do it right. The idea of a guy making a robot wife that becomes a deadly soulmate could bring out some deep emotions. I'm curious to see how they balance horror and eroticism without it getting too over-the-top. If they can make the new robot character as interesting as M3GAN, this could be a big hit. Can't wait to see how it all pans out!

I'm enthralled by the prospect of the new spinoff, Soulm8te, being introduced into the M3GAN universe. It's quite unexpected for Blumhouse to delve into the realm of erotic thrillers, but if done well, it could be a refreshing move. The concept of creating a sentient partner that goes awry holds significant potential for delving into intricate human emotions and relationships. The key lies in the creation and development of the new robot character. If they can craft a character as captivating and multi-dimensional as M3GAN, this spinoff could truly make a mark. I eagerly anticipate witnessing the progression of this storyline and the new dimensions it will introduce to the franchise.

I have doubts about Soulm8te. M3GAN was successful because it combined horror with a quirky, almost satirical edge. Transitioning to an erotic thriller might alienate fans who appreciated the original tone. Additionally, the market is already filled with films about rogue AIs and killer robots. What set M3GAN apart was her personality and the fresh take on a familiar concept. Without M3GAN, I'm worried this spinoff won't have the same charm. I'll wait for reviews before deciding whether to watch it, but my expectations are low.

A M3GAN... erotic thriller? Hold on, what? Blumhouse, are you sure this isn't some elaborate marketing prank? M3GAN was creepy and funny, but sexy? I'm not sure I see it. This whole Soulm8te thing sounds like a massive misstep.

Wait, a spinoff before a sequel? Shouldn't they focus on M3GAN 2.0 first? What happened to the whole "grieving aunt and killer AI niece" story? I get wanting to expand the franchise, but this feels rushed and tonally off. Soulm8te sounds like it's trying to be too many things at once.
