Where do you get your media?

I must admit, I haven`t watched an entire season of sentai(theres literally thousands of episodes), and theres this problem with the fact that I can`t seem to locate anything past Abaranger.

Where do you guys get your media? I don`t know anything about MiRC or how to even use the sucka for downloading, my PC might crash before it was completed. :disappoin
But seriously. whats your methods and means?

For anime, particularly the latest stuff, I use BitTorrent. For music and software, I use SoulSeek, Morpheus, Kazaa Lite Ressurected, or whatever I can get my hands on. Direct Connect is another good place to find anime, manga, and imports, but you have to share to use that service, and you can't really get into the good channels unless you share ALOT of files.

As for IRC, I know how to use it, but I've never been much for downloading from IRC because I've never had a need to. It's not the most hospitable place on the web, and you have to go into channels and bum what you want, or get the others to give you links to the things you want. If there are people logged on, but no one's really 'there', you could be there awhile just waiting for a response. They have filesharing networks on IRC, but it's just easier to use a P2P program because, with IRC, you have to learn how to use it just to enter those places. It's not hard, just pointless.

BitTorrent annoying.....what happened to the days of .rm media and wmv files?

I mostly use either Direct Download or Bit Torrent.

Yes, Bit Torrent can now and again be a pain in the booty to use, but there are times when you desperately want to watch a series, and it's only available for download on Bit Torrent and you just haven't got a choice!!

Me? I'm slowly getting used to Bit Torrent. Everytime a Torrent can start to take too long to download, I can always pause it and continue the download later..

Alternatively I can buy the series on DVD / VHS / VCS / Whatever..

Don't depend on it. It's actually losing its popularity in Japan. After the fact a few people were arrested for using it and the developer was arrested and no new real versions being released. It's kind of dying out.
