Guess what? TNT has the broadcast rights to Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson, and they want everybody to know. So this weekend, they’re running a marathon of every modern superhero movie they have the rights to. But it’s going to be a weird one, and here’s why….
The movies leading up to Captain Marvel are Justice League, Suicide Squad, Batman Begins, Wonder Woman, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Man of Steel, along with some repeats. Notice a theme? These are all DC films, and they’re being used to herald the arrival of a Marvel heroine.
You know what makes this extra-ironic? Both Marvel and DC had characters named Captain Marvel for decades, until DC finally surrendered and renamed their CM to his magic catchphrase, “Shazam.” (Also it’s what everyone called him anyway.)
The marathon is going on now and here are the times for each film.
