We've all gushed over the main protagonists and villains in the Final Fantasy series, but what about those side characters that just don't get enough love? I'm talking about the ones that really brought something special to their games, whether through their story arcs, personality, or gameplay abilities.

For me, it's got to be characters like Cid Highwind from FFVII, sure, he gets his shoutouts, but does anyone truly recognize how much he contributes to the game's emotional depth? Or what about Eiko from FFIX? Her childhood innocence alongside the heavier themes in the game really hit me hard upon replaying.

Then there's Yuffie, who walks that line between playful and serious so well, adding a fun dynamic to party dialogues. I could go on!

Who are your picks for the most underrated characters in any Final Fantasy title? What do you love about them that keeps them in your heart? Let's shine some spotlight on these gems!

I've always thought Rinoa from FFVIII doesn't get the credit she deserves! She's such a complex character, balancing her own struggles with the heavy burden of fighting for freedom. Plus, that dance scene is just iconic! And can we talk about her relationship with Squall? It's like a rollercoaster of emotions that adds so much to the story!

Also, I absolutely agree about Eiko! Her innocence in the face of all those darker themes is one of the reasons IX hits so hard for me. It makes you appreciate the little things.

What about characters from the newer titles? I feel like characters like Y'shtola from FFXIV have so much depth, but aren't always at the forefront of discussions when people talk about their favorites. Who else do you think deserves more love from the fandom?
