For the past six or so years, Gearbox software and Sega have quitely been working on a title by the name of Aliens Colonial Marines.
When it was released two weeks ago, the response was unified that the game was absolute dog **** and appeared as though the game had never left beta. Though Gearbox founder Randy Pitchford would hear nothing of it.
There is now reason to believe that Gearbox embezzled money from Sega that would have gone towards Aliens Colonial Marines to fund it's Borderlands series as well as the completion of Duke Nukem Forever.
The development for Colonial Marines was passed onto Timegate studios since Gearbox really couldn't be bothered with it. They were also forbidden from working on the version that Gearbox had made.
It's a very interesting development that keeps on revealing more about the twisted and otherwise backhanded business practices of the video game industry
