So I finished Agito about a month ago..

i don't think the agito's ending was rushed... just probably had a limited budget for an explosive finale,, the money would have to go in the printing of the advent cards...

what i really like about agito is that the main riders are almost perfectly characterized... along with the flaws of their human nature...

agito for being the almost stereotype kind-hearted main rider guy...

gills being the tragic hero... felt sorry for the guy...

g3 for being human... this is what i really liked about this series since he was portrayed as a fragile simple human with no special ability/powers... just some not-so-reliable power suit(which is actually portayed to be much more realistic than the succeeding shows) and heart...

Budget is something to consider with these shows. However, I think they often do more with not even half the money than Hollywood does with truckloads of cash spent on any given production. But sometimes lack of funds can effect the best laid plans.

@The Scream Man. I agree that introducing her just to kill her off was lame. Again, typical Inoue. ..but at least with this there was a bit more point. Just as things are looking up for him life abruptly knocks Ryo down yet again but rather than moaning his fate he becomes determined to survive whatever **** life chooses to throw at him. To live in spite of it no matter what.

So while bringing a character in late in the game just of off them so soon after is kinda bad policy in terms of storytelling I forgive it if only because I like what it does for Ryo's arc.

Again, conceptually isn't my issue. If we had met her and Shouchis ladies at episode 40 something, I wouldnt have blinked. It would have done exactly what u said. But doing it 2 episodes before the end, when we're clearly shown that The Big Bad is just building his power for one final play made it OBVIOUS they were there just to get knocked down again.

And Im sorry but budget doesnt cover the ending. There are 2 monsters fighting the Riders that could have been left out while the master gets to do some actual fighting against our heroes. The way it plays out makes the master look doofy: He spends over a month building power and rearranging the stars in the sky, and then....goes out with a kick! A kick that Shouichi clearly survives, so how do we know the master isnt off somewhere building his time again??

i really did LOVE AGito for 9/10ths of series. I think I am hung up on this ending because it's such a departure from how GOOD the rest of the show was.

come to think of it... it does look silly for the main bad guy to just floating around and doing nothing... but i still felt that the finale was just being forced on such tight budget.. especially when i consider how ground breaking ryuuki is in terms of CGI, cast, suits etc...

Because of the scene where Tetsuya Sawaki before he died convinced the Master, MIB, or Overlord whatever that while he may have created humanity he didn't truly understand them. The Overlord decides instead to observe how humans will use their gifts.
