Shout Factory is pretty much the only decent DVD maker left, but they’ve been preparing for a possible DVD-less future by purchasing properties. They own Mystery Science Theater 3000, and as of today, they also own ALF. Yup, those two things are officially under one umbrella, and could theoretically cross over in their own Cinematic Universe.
Why ALF? We don’t know as of yet, but Alien Productions, which has owned the creature 100% since his 1980s heyday, was finally willing to sell to someone. Alien Productions seems to consist of just two people: ALF creator/ puppeteer Paul Fusco, and series executive producer Tom Patchett.
