Power Rangers SPD - Shadow Games
(click title)
Song: Yu Gi Oh - Shadow Games

Commentary: This was just a fun one for me to do. After seeing part one and hearing this song, I knew I wanted to attempt a video for it. So planning began early and I quickly whipped it up within hours after Part 2 of Shadow. I probably could have put more effort and heart into it but I felt it didn't need it. I was happy with what I did and I did what I wanted. That's all that matters. One of my small goals for the video was to "not" use the Morphing Sequence. The thing is, every other video is going to. you KNOW it is. Why should I? You don't need to see it. I hope you enjoy it regardless.

The Story: I had a comment given to me before that someone felt I was "randomly placing clips" about half way into the video. This is not true. I want to reassure everyone that my videos are never random and always have a hidden story to them. You just need an open mind and a quick thought to be able to catch on to what I am trying to tell. For Shadow, it's a simple tale. First part of the video establishes a fact that Gruumm and Banaag torture Doggie's dreams. It also establishes the connection with him and Kat. She knows and she comforts him.

It then reaches a climax where we see the battle of Sirius. Now after the climax it dies down. We fast forward and see Doggie marching forward. As he does we see his legacy. The SPD Command center. We also see Kat walking very stressed. We also see a shadow of someone watching as Doggie marches forward still. We see the shadow of Benaag and the Video Message of Benaag pretty much solidifying the fact that Benaag is back from Doggie's nightmares coming to ruin him yet again. It climaxes to the battle

At the height of battle, we see Kat was captured and beind held hostage! Shes being used as bait to get Doggie to lower his guard. Then we see that Gruumm has returned. **** is about to hit the fan just like it did ages past on Sirius. Kat begins to cry as she sees Doggie losing and she remembers the time when Doggie almost died once. This time, his fate was about to be done in once and for all. But at the final climax of the song, we see he pulls through and saves her. His cadets congratulate him and support him in the end, further showing his ongoing legacy.

Simple.

Power Rangers Time Force - Everything We Had
(click title)
Song: Yellowcard - Believe

Commentary: This was made as a tribute to one of my favorite Season Finale's of all time. It was such an emotional set of episodes and I remember almost crying during that special scene where Wes sends his friends back to the future, even if it meant him dying to save the city alone. Everything about those episodes was emotional. I focus alot more on Part 2 of End of Time but there's a golden rule with me. I never, ever pull clips from just one episode. I always, always work hard and pull clips from more than one episode. So you will never see a Music Video from me that is just clips from 1 episode. Never.

I originally had a bigger idea in mind for the introduction. I wanted to have a 30 second introduction where its basically the scene where Wes is sending his friends to the future and them trying to refuse and break free. But thanks to technical difficulties with the video and Adobe, I couldn't do it. So the introduction was greatly shortened but the rest of the video is everything I wanted it to be and I'm happy about the effort I put into it. Again, I just made it as a simple tribute to my favorite TF episode.

The Story: I don't think it needs much explanation. I didn't change up the story that much so it shouldn't be confusing.

Power Rangers Dino Thunder - From Birth To Extinction
(click title)
Song: Evanescence - Bring Me To Life

Commentary: Wait Wait! Come back! Before you groan at the song of choice, give the video a chance. Yes, normally I wouldn't use a song like this. There is nothing wrong with the song but it's been played out and horribly over used by EVERYONE. It's not unique to use anymore but if I didn't feel I needed this song I wouldn't have used it. And I strongly felt this song was necessary for the video.

I never let the video dictate what song I use. Its the song that dictates what video I create. This song, listening one night, showed me that I could make a good Mesogog/Mercer video and I set out to do that. I think I did a good job and I do feel the lyrics match well with the tone of the message. The message being that Mercer is trapped in darkness that he created and he cant wake up from it.

There was one goal I had with this video. That goal was to NOT show Mercer being split from Mesogog. I wanted to tell a story where Mercer and Mesogog were never split and a story where Mercer was consumed by mesogog beyond the point of saving.

I hope you enjoy it!

The Story: The story of my videos can be hidden and quite complicated. Such is the case with this one. Basically, we open up and touch upon the fact that Trent is Mercer's Son and he wants to help his dad. But Mercer pushes him away. We then see him in the lab where he makes his gruesome transformation to Mesogog. We see flashes of him harming Trent. Flashes of Shadows of his alter form. But we don't see his form completely till the end of the scene. Then we see him sitting high upon a throne of darkness. Fully awakened. The song climaxes and we see Mesogog begin to hurt those around him, Tommy being the first victim. Tommy fighting off Tyrannodrones AND the awesome might of Mesogog. Tommy was Mercer's lab partner in the past so I definitely wanted to show that Mercer was lashing out at old friends. But there were no distinct clips to show that Tommy was an old partner. So this part of the story doesn't get conveyed to non-fans.

The second part of the story we see Zeltrax. We see that Mesogog created Zeltrax. Evil Creates Evil. We then see the ultimate nature of Evil in the Climax. Evil Consumes Evil. There is no honor amongst Evil. Consume or be Consumed by the stronger. That is the life of Evil. During this, we also see bits of Trent's struggle to help save his dad. He fails. And just as Mesogog climbs in power, the evil he created has come to consume him.

This is the plot twist. I deliberately edited the clips to make it look like Zeltrax was destroying Mesogog's base, not the Power Rangers base. Zeltrax comes in, destroys the base and consumes the later evil. Trent gets out. We sort of wind down and Mesogog comes back for the final Hurrah. And we sort of reach that understanding that Mercer is beyond saving and he meets his end.

I suck at explanations. But I hope I helped a bit.

There are some things I'm not happy with. A couple clips misplaced. I think I could do better. I often toy with the idea of going back and re-editing a few clips for a "Version 2".

But I'm very stubborn with what I create and hardly go back and re-edit work.

Power Rangers Dino Thunder - Thunder Storm
(click title)
Song: Yellowcard - Way Away

Commentary: This is the first video where I started using Windows Movie Maker. And it was a pain in the ever loving ASS. I hate Movie Maker. I'm used to using Adobe but sometimes Adobe fucks up and I cant do what I want to do in it. So I struggled with this program in making this video. I ultimately made this video 3 times. Because I started it, then would go back and change alot of the clips I used, I would edit more things and then ultimately decide "you know what, I should use this instead of that".

Originally, I used the Unmorphed Power Battle between the rangers. Sure it was kewl but... I didn't like it. So instead I redid the scene and used the MORPHED battle instead. It looked kewler.

I also HATED how everyone else was making a Thunderstorm video using only clips from Part 2. What the hell was wrong with Part 1? I set out to be different and I not only used clips from Part 1 and 2 of ThunderStorm, but I pulled clips from NINJA STORM as well! To help sell a certain story for the video.

I put some effort into it and it does have a good climax. Please enjoy.

The Story: Pretty self explanatory I think.

Power Rangers Ninja Storm - Desperate Battle
(click title)
Song: Berserk - Forces ver. 3

Commentary: The idea for the video was to show off the powerful villains of Ninja Storm. I loved the villains of Ninja Storm. They were unique, diverse, had interesting personalities, and had great fighting abilities. At first, my idea was that I would show off each individual Generals ability. But when I saw the final product. I didn't really like that. So ultimately, I changed the video and shifted the focus more on Lothor. In the end I reached the same effect. The Rangers are fucked.

The Story: Pretty simple. The Rangers are fucked. lol.

Power Rangers Dino Thunder - Prelude
(click title)
Song: ???? - Eternal

Commentary: This was my first Power Rangers music video. I made it for a contest that was on a power rangers board. The rules were simple, make a DinoThunder music video using only clips from the commercials! You see, DT hadn't aired yet at the time and this contest was to celebrate its approaching premier. So yes, before you ask, nothing in this video was taken from an episode. It's all from DinoThunder commercials. I was very proud of what I made in the end and yes, I did win the contest. Booya. The prize was a Megazord but I never got it. (he didn't ask for an address or anything as far as I remember) Ah well. I don't mind much because making this video inspired me to make more videos. It gave me extra confidence.

The Story: Actually there IS a story here! Im sure it might be really hard to see it. It probably looks like nothing but random clips but I assure you, I placed these clips in a precise order. First we see the city is under attack. Shits going down. Legend tells of heroes who can tame the beasts and save the world. Through the eyes of Tyranno we see shadows of these heroes. And through the eyes of Tyranno again, we see the heroes emerge and start fighting back the evil forces. Then we slow down, see the heroes for who they are in real life. Normal kids with lives and hobbies. But when **** hits the fan they are ready to help protect the Earth and they do so.
=============================

This is it for now! I've had many other PR video ideas. But lately I just havent had the time to perfect them or work on them. Videos I've worked on and havent finished are a WF video, two other DT videos, and a Sailor Moon one.

More about me:

1) I never, EVER try to match the lyrics of a song to the actual content of the video. Ever. Its nice if I CAN do it, but it's not my #1 goal to match the words of a song to the content of a video. What I do is match the "Energy" of the song and the feeling it gives to what you are watching. Dont try to listen to the lyrics. Just let yourself slip into the actual music of the song. You will enjoy yourself alot more.

2) I dont do requests. I just make videos when I get the inspiration for them. Sometimes I spend a few hours on a video. Other times I spend weeks even months working on a video. I work on my own inspiration and make videos I personally feel like making. I dont do requests.

3) I never let the video tell me "make a musicvideo of me!". Ever. I dont sit there and say "omg! I want to make a video about Doggie! Now what would be a good song?". Its always the song. I will be listening to a song and think to myself "hey you know what, I could make a kewl video about Doggie to this song". I then listen to the song several more times to get an idea of what clips to use and when to use them.

4) I try to let the music suggest what clip should go where. If the music is low or starts out slow, I start out with slow or quiet clips instead of action ones. If the music is heavy and hard hitting, I use clips that reflect that energy. I always try to match the energy of the song with the clips.

5) I've been watching Music Videos for a few years. I know what makes a good video. It's hard work, inspiration, dedication. It's not lazyness. Trust me, if you want to make a good video, put effort into it. Edit edit edit! Dont just stick a song to a clip and try and pass it off as a good video. Dont make a music video showing nothing but trasnformations or moving mouths and expect people to enjoy it. But yes, been watching for years. Just now began to make them after wanting to for so long. I plan on making more. They wont all be Power Rangers. I am working on a Sailor Moon (anime) video right now but I'm putting alot of effort into it. I've been working on it for over a month now. I just dont want to rush it out. I really feel strongly about the message Im getting across in it.

Anywho I guess that's it. Please enjoy my videos and leave feedback!

Well, for a while I *was* considering posting my music videos, but now I'm a little intimidated.

But holy crap, dude! I didn't know you made those. Shadow Games and Everything We Had are two of my favorite music videos.

All that being said, I wish I could come up with something to say about the videos themselves. Some critique or constructive critisism but honestly, nothing's coming to me. You're just too damn good, man.

Bravo.

glad you like em :buttrock: You should post your videos sometime. That's what this particular board is for, afterall.

I realized I did something right when one of the guys was playing my music video on his computer at a convention a while back.

You hold some of the same truths I do about making videos. Of course I usually got a big inspiration and then try and whittle it down to something that really works. I like your style it's really good, love the that last DT video and the Shadow Games vid. Mmmm hmmm!
