Revisiting "The Sandman", Why It’s a Must-Read Graphic Novel

I recently decided to revisit Neil Gaiman's "The Sandman" series after not picking it up for years, and wow, it hit different this time! The blend of mythology, horror, and human emotion is just as powerful as I remember, if not more so.

What really stands out to me is Gaiman’s ability to create rich, multi-dimensional characters, especially Dream himself. The way he explores themes of change, responsibility, and even the fluidity of identity feels so relevant today.

Has anyone else reread it recently? I'm curious about your thoughts on how the series resonates with today’s issues, or maybe how your perception of it has changed over time. And if you’re a newbie to the series, which volumes are you most excited to get into?

Let’s talk about those poignant moments that stuck with you!

Revisiting "The Sandman" is such a treat! I’ve gone back to it a few times, and every read offers something new. Gaiman’s characterization is so layered, especially with Dream, he’s such a tragic figure grappling with the consequences of his actions, which hits harder with each reread. I think the way he handles identity and transformation is incredibly relevant right now, especially in a world that’s constantly shifting.

The "Fear of Falling" arc has always resonated with me for its exploration of vulnerability. It's a reminder that even the most powerful beings have their insecurities! I’m really looking forward to the new adaptations coming out soon; I hope they capture the depth of those themes. What would you say is your favorite moment from the series? I’m always curious what sticks out for others!
