You know what is the one thing that really sucks about being an adult?! Is that you have all of your documents and then one second a few of them are either missing or lost because of a medical clinic's lack of organization thanks to the county. This is precisely what has happened to me this whole year. It all happened when I was applying for CMISP (the over 21 year-old version of Medi-Cal). I had just asked for a xerox copy of my birth certificate just before I turned it in with my CMISP Packet just to register for the program, and just when I checked to see if I had all of my original documents, my social security card went missing. and so now, I have to get a replacement. and just earlier, my disability coordinator just got a call from CMISP telling her that the county that I am currently living in just lost my birth certificate. Which means now I have to go to the city I was born in to get a replacement birth certificate in order to get a replacement social security card. And you wanna what was stupid?! My disability coordinator had the nerve to tell me that I didn't have to turn in my birth certificate with my CMISP application packet just now instead of telling me this when I applied back in April.
