Miss Fortune ~ Whoa! That Guy is a Bigger Thief Than Me!

What stood out to me most about Miss Fortune was its self-awareness. It doesn’t pretend to be something deep or groundbreaking. Instead, it leans into a tone of moral ambiguity while still keeping the plot simple. The writing plays with genre elements—seduction, mistaken identity, high-stakes robbery—without ever becoming too serious. The central theme of generational escape adds weight, though not all of it lands. I wouldn’t call it sharp satire, but there’s definitely commentary under the surface. It’s a bit of a missed opportunity, yet not a total waste either. I’d place it comfortably in the middle tier of recent Korean genre films.
