Columbia Pictures has announced “Jumanji 3” (final title yer to be determined) is now on the slate, expected to be completed and released two years from now. Everyone who starred in the 2017 and 2019 movies is expected to return again as avatars of the once evil board game turned evil video game, including Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart and Jack Black, as well as director Jake Kasdan. I had the same question you did when this came across my desk. “Jumanji 3? Which movie are they not counting?” There have been three Jumanji movies already: the 1995 original, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” from 2017, and “Jumanji: The Next Level” from 2019. I have the dread feeling it’s the Williams / Dunst film they’re leaving out, as it’s so different from the more recently released sequels. I regard the original Jumanji as the film that closed the book on the “unexpectedly scary children’s movie,” a genre that used to be plentiful. I'm cautiously optimistic about Jumanji 3. The first two movies were a lot of fun, so I'm hoping this one can live up to the hype. I'm excited to see what new twists and turns the filmmakers have in store for us. Here's hoping it's a worthy addition to the franchise

I'm curious to see how they'll incorporate new gaming elements into the story. I hope they'll reference some classic games and pay homage to the gaming culture. This could be a real treat for gamers and movie lovers alike

I'm not even gonna bother with Jumanji 3. The Rock ruined Black Adam, and honestly, I'm over his ego-driven movies. He's more interested in promoting himself than making good films.

I mean, Black Adam was a total mess. The story was weak, the characters were underdeveloped, and the action sequences were just a bunch of CGI explosions. It's a shame, because Black Adam could have been a really cool character. But The Rock insisted on making it his own personal vanity project, and it ended up being a huge disappointment.

I'm not saying I hate The Rock, but I'm definitely not a fan of his recent work. He needs to stop trying to force himself into every movie and focus on making quality projects.

Oh man, a new Jumanji? I'm so stoked! I loved the first two movies, especially the hilarious chemistry between the cast.A video game-themed movie? As a gamer, I'm really looking forward to this. I hope they'll delve deeper into the gaming world and reference some classic titles. I'd love to see the characters face challenges inspired by iconic video game genres, like platformers, RPGs, and shooters. It would be cool if they could incorporate some Easter eggs and nods to the gaming community. I'm excited to see how they'll blend the magic of Jumanji with the excitement of video games.

Hollywood really knows how to milk a franchise, don't they? I'm not expecting much from this one. It'll probably be a generic, by-the-numbers blockbuster that relies on nostalgia and spectacle. I'm hoping they can surprise me with something original and unexpected. But I won't hold my breath.
