Harley Quinn Returns Next Month -- And Moves

Max just made the surprise announcement that the fifth season of Harley Quinn will premiere sooner than the previous seasons typically have. This show usually pops up in the spring or summer, but this time it’s arriving with the New Year. After four seasons, Harley and Ivy have had it with Gotham. They’re leaving and heading to a place that hasn’t decayed into an urban hellzone (of their own making, mostly). Metropolis looks shiny, sunny, and unspoiled, so they make it their new home…unfortunately, they have the worst timing and picked the week that Brainiac chose to invade Earth. One thing becomes clear through the below trailer: the spinoff Kite Man: Hell Yeah was not a side one-off you can ignore. It IS going to influence the coming season of Harley Quinn — Brainiac’s plot was introduced there, and so was Goldilocks, Bane’s adopted daughter (he has a daughter now; this is how out of the loop you are). For those who skipped Kite Man, you’ve got a month to catch up! As always, Harley Quinn stars the voices of Kaley Cuoco as Harley, Lake Bell as Poison Ivy, James Adomian as Bane, Diedrich Bader as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Ron Funches […]

OMG, Harley and Ivy are ditching Gotham for Metropolis?! This is insane! Can't wait to see how they'll handle a whole new city, especially with Brainiac on the loose.

Can't believe we're already on Season 5! Time flies. It's crazy to think how far Harley Quinn has come. Who would've thought this animated show would outshine the live-action versions? Birds of Prey and Joker 2... oof, those were rough. Guess they found the right formula with this one. Here's to hoping they keep up the good work!

Harley and Ivy in Metropolis? More like Metropolis is about to get Harlequined. Can't wait for all the memes and fan art that's gonna come out of this. I'm already thinking of some great caption ideas.

I love how this show takes classic DC characters and makes them completely their own. Harley and Ivy moving to Metropolis? That’s going to be hilarious with Superman in the mix. Plus, I’ve heard good things about the Kite-Man show, so I’ll probably give that a shot before diving into the new season.

I’ll admit, I was skeptical when Harley Quinn first started, but it’s grown on me. The humor can be hit or miss, but the show’s charm lies in how it subverts expectations. That said, I’m not sure moving to Metropolis will land as well as their chaos in Gotham did—it feels like Gotham was such a core part of the show’s identity. But I’ll reserve judgment. Brainiac as the villain could be a fun twist if they handle him right.

Harley Quinn is hands down one of my favorite animated shows ever. I can’t wait to see what chaos Harley and Ivy unleash in Metropolis. The idea of Brainiac taking center stage as the big bad is so exciting—he’s such a versatile character, and I’m curious how they’ll spin him comedically. And King Shark having little sharklets? That’s both adorable and hilarious.

While I enjoy Harley Quinn, I can’t help but feel a little concerned about the show moving to Metropolis. One of the best parts of the earlier seasons was the chaos of Gotham and how the city itself felt like a character. I hope the new setting doesn’t take away from that dynamic. Also, introducing Brainiac is ambitious, but will they overdo it? The show sometimes walks a fine line between clever and over-the-top, and I hope they don’t lose focus on the core cast. Still, I’ll be watching!

It’s incredible to think about how far Harley Quinn has come. Back when the DC Universe streaming service launched, I didn’t expect much from this show, but it’s outlasted everything else and grown into a standout series. Moving the action to Metropolis feels like a bold move that could breathe new life into the story. It’s also cool to see minor characters like Kite-Man getting their own spinoffs and contributing to the bigger narrative. I’ve got high hopes for Season 5—it feels like the show’s just hitting its stride.
