There will be no more Green Arrows on The CW, the network announced today, and no Canaries either. They’re officially taking a pass on the proposed spinoff sequel to Arrow, after a backdoor pilot aired as one of the original’s final episodes nearly a year ago.
In that episode, it was revealed that in the year 2040, everything is perfect and the world is at absolute peace (we really turned things around in nineteen years). In this world lives Mia Smoak, the happy and rich daughter of Ollie and Felicity, until she finds out trouble is on the horizon. Laura Lance has time-traveled to her era, recruited Dinah Drake and seeks to add Mia to her team to form the crime-fighting trio to be known as the Canaries. Now they must fight…..someone, and they better figure out who it is, because if they fail, the planet will fall into war and chaos once again.
