Gamer's nightmare, or blessing in disguise

It was bound to happen eventually, and eventually finally came last night around 10pm in the middle of a rather intense Peace Walker session (I like to output my PSP to my TV when I'm home, for the sake of convenience). My trusty TV, with witch I've spent many a long night, finally died on me.

Taking everything in stride as is my nature, I immediately began to panic over the fact that I could no longer see the mission, the realization of the then dead TV having not yet dawned on me. Of course i simply removed the TV output cable and was back in action, and the remainder of the night a blur of fulton recoveries.

Waking this morning on somewhat of a chex mix (turtle) hangover of sorts, it finally dawned on me, my steadfast companion was dead. No save file, no continue, no(t) worth replacing the tube since it was out of warranty.

After much internal turmoil, I decided to use my upcoming bonus for a new TV instead of an upgraded 360, and while it will take some time to adjust to it, my life is now filled with a new 42" 1080p Plasma... which weighs maybe half as much as my 32" 1080i CRT. Time to go back and re experience some things I was missing. Not really missing I guess, since my PC monitors had 1080p outputs, but missing on a larger scale.

I guess it can be a good opportunity to heck out some of your older games with the new Plasma tv. That's what I'm still doing with my kinda new tv.

I like how it took a full night for it to sink in for you. Probably woulda been the same for me.
