MeTV Toons sounds like a great option for cartoon enthusiasts! It’s nice to see networks making space for classic shows. Do you have any favorite cartoons you hope they feature?

People need to calm down. The original Super Mario Super Show was never high quality animation. It was made fast for TV and that’s why it looks the way it does. The AI upscale just highlights the problems that were already there. If they want it to look better someone has to go in and fix the drawings by hand, not click a button.

This is exactly why I don’t trust AI upscales. They take something that was already low budget and make it look even stranger. The show was made quick and cheap in 1989 and it shows. No amount of modern tech can hide that without someone actually redrawing everything. At least now we can laugh about how silly Toad’s head looks.

This whole thing is funny to me. Everyone complaining about the upscale but forgetting the show looked pretty bad even on VHS. The backgrounds were simple and the characters moved stiff. AI didn’t break it, it just showed the truth. I’m still going to watch the rest of the episodes because it’s Mario and it’s nostalgic.
