Desert Bus For Hope 2010

It's that time of year again. The folks at LoadingReadyRun have begun their yearly Desert Bus for Hope Charity Event.

For those unfamiliar with this event, it goes like this:

Desert Bus is a "mini-game" on an unreleased Sega CD title created by Penn and Teller. It involves you driving a bus in the Nevada Desert in real time. If you make it to the end you get 1 point and you can drive back the other way for the chance to earn another point. (It was originally intended as a joke on how games "don't teach you what real jobs are like".)

What LoadingReadyRun has done is taken a burned copy of this game and they will play for as long as enough donations keep pouring in to match their quota for the next hour. All proceeds go to Childs Play.

As of this writing, they are currently 11 hours in, with enough donations to keep them going 104 hours in total.

It's a good cause and the LoadingReadyRun crew keep it as entertaining as they can as they grind through the experience. If you can donate just a few dollars, or even just point this thing out to more people who can, it is well worth your time to do so.
