There are three Cloverfield movies by far. They are all set in the same universe but they are not as directly linked. Cloverfield, the first film in the franchise will finally have a direct sequel that will follow what happened next on it’s subtle ending.
Before we discuss the sequel let’s talk about how the story goes by far. I will only give the premise of each film and not give too much spoilers for those who haven’t watched yet.
Cloverfield
The first film in the franchise is a found footage horror film. It took inspiration from films like
The Blair Witch Project but with the flavor of a Japanese Kaiju movie. The looks like a home video recorded with a camcorder.
