The Daredevil Reboot Has Been Rebooted

According to a new report from THR, we could be waiting a lot longer for Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again. The upcoming series uses the same actor for Matt Murdock as the gritty TV show formerly on Netflix, but early reports suggested it would be different in tone, perhaps LESS gritty to fit better with the MCU as a whole.

I'm quite bummed about this because I thoroughly enjoyed Daredevil's brutal and mature take on the character. The Netflix series was known for its violence and grit, and I loved it for that. However, it seems like they want this reboot to align more with the MCU, which is all about heroics and flashiness. So, I guess we can expect this new show to have more CGI and be less grounded than what we got from Netflix. It's a departure from what I loved about the character, but I'm willing to give it a chance and see how it turns out.

I hope Elodie Yung can reprise her role as Elektra in Daredevil because, in my opinion, she's one of the best Elektras to grace the screen. Her portrayal was top-notch, even surpassing Jennifer Garner's performance, and that's saying something. It's true that she's not Greek, but her acting talent shone through. I understand she's currently occupied with her hit show Cleaning Lady. Since Disney now owns Fox, perhaps there's a chance for her to make a crossover appearance in Daredevil when Cleaning Lady isn't in production. It would be a dream come true for many fans to see her back in the role.

I can't help but wonder if She-Hulk will make a guest appearance in Daredevil. After they teamed up against Frogman, and things became more intimate, it makes me curious if their relationship will continue in Daredevil.

I'm a bit torn on this one. On the one hand, I was excited about a new Daredevil series. But on the other hand, turning it into a court procedural? That's not what I signed up for. I appreciate that they're trying to align it with traditional TV, but I hope they don't lose the essence of what made Daredevil unique. Let's see if this retooling pays off, but I have my doubts.

Well, this is unexpected. Daredevil without a costume until the fourth episode? That doesn't sound watchable. Maybe the delay and the changes will make it better, but I'm not holding my breath. We'll see, I guess.

Seriously, no pilot and no showrunner? That's a recipe for disaster, in my opinion. I mean, I liked the Netflix Daredevil, and this court procedural version doesn't sound appealing at all. I hope the reboot with a showrunner turns out better.I'm a bit disappointed that they're changing the whole approach. I loved the darker tone of the Netflix Daredevil, and I don't want it to lose its edge. But I get it, they want it to be more like the MCU, and that might be a good thing for some folks.

Well, it's clear that the Marvel TV Factory method wasn't working perfectly, especially with recent shows not hitting the mark. I'm open to a change if it means better content.

This is such a letdown. I loved Daredevil on Netflix, and the idea of it being more like a traditional TV show is a bit disappointing. I hope they can strike a balance between what worked before and what the MCU needs.
