GODS DON'T GIVE GIFTS (2026) ~ A Dark Sci-Fi Nightmare About Immortality, Technology, and the Soul

What Am I made for?
I watched the trailer twice already and the visuals look really strong for something AI generated. The concept of consciousness transfer is not new but the way they connect it to debt and body modification feels fresh. I am curious how NiiroCore will be portrayed, corporations controlling memories sounds terrifying if you think about it in real life terms. December four is far but I already added this to my watchlist. Hope the pacing holds up since four interconnected stories can get messy if not handled well.

This sounds exactly like something I would skip. Too many movies try to be deep about death and identity and end up just confusing. I will wait for reviews before deciding.

The idea of memories being sold or erased hits different when you think about how data privacy already feels broken today. This film might just be holding up a mirror to where we are heading. I respect that the question is not about beating death but about what we lose chasing it. That is actually a mature way to approach the topic instead of just showing cool technology for the sake of it.

Four separate storylines sounds ambitious but also risky. I have seen anthology style films fail because none of the stories get enough time to develop properly. Hoping NiiroCore gets explored deeply since a corporation controlling consciousness is a strong concept on its own. The cast list is unusual with internet personalities mixed in, might work in favor of reaching younger audiences who already follow these creators online.

This type of story always makes me reflect on my own life choices and what truly matters beyond just existing longer. The underground modification scenes sound disturbing in a good way, exactly what horror should feel like instead of relying only on blood and screaming. I am hoping the animation style supports the emotional weight the story is trying to deliver since AI generated visuals can sometimes feel cold and distant from the characters.

Limited theatrical release means I probably will not catch this until streaming, which is annoying since concept sounds genuinely original.

The religious warning angle caught my attention immediately. Most sci-fi stories focus only on technology and forget to question the spiritual cost of these advancements. Pairing cyberpunk aesthetics with questions about the soul feels like a bold creative decision rather than just following trends blindly. I hope the elite indulgence storyline does not turn into something shallow just for shock value, since that could easily undermine the more serious themes the film is trying to build throughout its runtime.
