The Ocarina Of Time Remake Is Getting At Least One New Room

From what we’ve seen, Nintendo‘s upcoming remake of The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time will be mostly the same game, with most of the changes being visual glow-ups for […]

The idea of adding a new room is super intriguing; I wonder if it'll give us some fresh backstory or maybe even a little nod to the later games in the series. It's such a classic, and any new content could really enhance the experience!

Honestly the Hall of Fallen Foes sounds like the best idea they could add without touching the main story. A boss rush with a timer gives me a reason to replay fights I already know by heart. I just hope the controls feel tight enough for speedrunning attempts because old camera control issues used to ruin boss fights for me back in the day. Skulltula changes are a nice touch too, makes combat feel less passive.

if they charge extra for master quest again I am skipping this one. we already paid for this game twice, three times if remake counts. just include it from day one, simple as that.

This is such a small addition but it changes a lot honestly. A dedicated room for lore and rematches shows they thought about replay value instead of just making the game pretty. I like that it is optional too, you are not forced into it if you just want to finish the story. Games need more side content like this that rewards curiosity without feeling like padding.

Combat changes worry me a little. Ocarina combat was never that deep to begin with, so tweaking enemy patterns could throw off muscle memory for long time players. At the same time I get why they want it, standing still and waiting for an enemy to turn around was never exciting gameplay. Guess we will see once people get hands on time and compare notes properly.

master quest better not be dlc or I am rioting in the comments

A jump button in 2026 still sounds funny to type out loud. The original game had you jump automatically near ledges and somehow people still speedran it perfectly. Adding manual jump could change platforming sections in ways nobody expects yet. I am curious if speedrunners will even use it or just ignore it completely like extra fluff.

cant believe this game is almost 30 years old and still getting new content added to it. that says a lot about how solid the original design was from the start

I'm more interested in the Master Quest question. The Hall of Fallen Foes sounds nice, but I already know most of these bosses. Master Quest would give me a real reason to play through the whole game again. I don't want Nintendo to lock it behind paid DLC, either. If they're charging full price for a remake, I expect a decent amount of content. Ocarina of Time is a classic, but nostalgia alone isn't enough to justify buying another version.

Changing the Skulltulas sounds like a smart move to me. I remember how predictable some enemies became after playing the original several times. Having to approach them differently could make familiar areas feel more dangerous. I don't need Nintendo to redesign the entire game, but small gameplay changes like this are welcome. The Hall of Fallen Foes is also a good way to let players practice against bosses without replaying long sections. I just hope the new mechanics feel natural and don't make combat unnecessarily annoying.

Honestly, I just want to fight Ganondorf again with updated visuals. 😂 The Hall of Fallen Foes sounds like a fun bonus, and I can see myself spending too much time trying to beat my own records. I never cared much about speedrunning before, but a timer could change that. I hope the remake keeps the original music and atmosphere, though. Those things are a big part of why Ocarina of Time still feels special to me. Modern graphics are great, but I don't want the game to lose its identity.
