Paesano and Hochstatter have definitely crafted some catchy tunes that add a lot of fun to these adaptations, but I feel like the emotional depth they can deliver in more serious contexts sometimes gets lost in a more comedic setting like Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Their work in The Getaway probably captures the playful spirit of the franchise well, but I wonder if they could push some boundaries to bring out a bit more nuance, like they did in The Maze Runner. Would love to see them take on something with a heavier narrative next!
