The switch from a sequel film to a TV series for Crazy Rich Asians feels like a bit of a misstep to me. While the original film had such a vibrant and engaging story, turning it into a series risks stretching things too thin. The charm of the film was in its pacing and tight narrative, which might not translate well to the episodic format where filler can easily creep in. Plus, I wonder how they'll handle the beloved characters; some might work better in a neat two-hour package rather than a sprawling series. It definitely has potential, but it feels like a gamble given the warmth and humor from the original.
