KPop Demon Hunters getting a release through Criterion is pretty wild. I mean, they usually stick with more classic or prestige films, so it's cool to see them branching into something more contemporary and genre-focused. It kinda reminds me of how they did a special feature for a film like House, which is so over-the-top and fun. Anyone else excited to see how Criterion handles the extras for this one?

Honestly I never thought I would see this movie next to old black and white films from other countries but here we are. I watched it three times already and each time I notice new small details in the background. The food scenes really make me hungry every single time lol. I don't care what people say about it being too mainstream for a collection like this, good movies are good movies no matter how many people watched it. I just hope the extra features are worth the price because right now it sounds a little thin for a full collector set. Still buying it day one though, the cover art alone is worth it.

I'm not gonna lie the postcards and booklet sound really nice but 200 dollars for basically a documentary and two YouTube videos feels steep. I love the movie a lot but my wallet is confused right now.

Every Frame a Painting doing video essays for this makes total sense to me since their editing analysis videos are always so detailed, I trust their opinion on animation more than most reviewers honestly, curious what angle they take here
