It's wild to see how The Mandalorian has really carved out its space on TV. The serialized format just fits so perfectly with what the show is trying to do. Each episode builds on the last, and that connection with Grogu's journey is something a movie just can't capture in the same way. Plus, the way the show blends familiar Star Wars lore with new stories and characters is a total win.

I do wonder how much the shift to streaming changes the dynamic for storytelling in general. With episodic releases, the suspense and anticipation are palpable! Do you think this trend towards TV will continue for big franchises, or will they circle back to movies eventually?

Rotta the Hutt showing up got my attention right away, I did not expect Jabba lore to come back like this. The puppetry and miniature work they mention always sounds better than actual CGI honestly. I hope the episodic feel does not hurt the pacing too much since stitched together TV episodes rarely flow like a real movie. Still adding this to my watchlist for September 2, day one for sure.

Paying extra for bonus content is nothing new but it still annoys me every single time. The behind the scenes stuff about the snow and swamp biomes actually sounds interesting though, more interesting than the main plot honestly.

Jon Favreau doing audio commentary alone might be worth the blu ray purchase for me. He always explains the practical effects side so well and it makes you appreciate the small details you would otherwise miss on a normal watch.

The Shakari city building segment sounds like the kind of practical effects content I actually want more of these days. Too many productions rely fully on green screen now so hearing about warehouse builds and fabrication teams putting in real work makes we want to check this out just for that documentary piece alone, separate from the actual film.
