The Blue Dragon Awards really have been a staple in celebrating the best of Korean cinema since 1963! It's wild to think about how much the industry has evolved over the decades. I always find it interesting to see which actors and directors get recognized, especially when you compare it to Western awards. Some of the speeches can be so heartfelt too; it really shows how deeply they value their craft.

Did anyone have a favorite moment from this year's winners? I always love when the underdogs pull through!

Two of my favorite actresses received awards - Kim Go-Eun and Shin Hae-Sun. As long as these talented ladies were recognized, I'm happy with the ceremony. LOL.

Kim Go-Eun winning Daesang makes total sense to me. I watched You and Everything Else last month and the way she plays that character stuck with me for days. The story about two women who grew up comparing themselves to each other, that is something so many people go through but nobody talks about openly. I felt like I was watching parts of my own friendships from school. The acting was not loud or dramatic, it was quiet and painful in a realistic way. I think that is harder to pull off than crying scenes. Congratulations to her, she deserves every bit of this award. Now I want to rewatch the whole series again with new eyes.

Okay The Scarecrow needs to be on everyone's watchlist right now. Park Hae-Soo playing a detective dealing with his own trauma while solving a 30 year old case is exactly my type of drama. I love slow burn mystery shows where the truth keeps changing shape. Adding this to my list tonight.

Honestly I did not expect Yumi's Cells to still be running strong in season 3. That show has such a unique way of showing emotions as little characters inside her head. Kim Jae-Won getting Best New Actor is well earned, his character brought something fresh into the love triangle. I remember watching season 1 years ago and never thought it would go this far. Kdramas really know how to stretch a good concept without making it boring, most of the time anyway.
