Not exactly holding my breath for this one. Scooby-Doo has had its fair share of origin stories, but I can't shake the feeling this will just rehash the same tropes with a modern twist. The idea of exploring how Mystery Inc. came together could be fun, but I hope they don't lean too heavily on nostalgia without adding something fresh. I mean, what more can we learn that we haven’t seen in Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated or even the live-action films?

I’m curious to see who they cast and how they handle the dynamics. If they can nail the chemistry and give us some clever writing, it could surprise us. What do you all think they should focus on to make it stand out?

I actually don't mind them making the gang younger, but making Scooby into a regular puppy feels like they removed the one thing that made him special. Scooby isn't just a mascot standing beside the group. He's a character with his own personality, fears, and habits. If he just acts like a normal dog for an entire season, then why even call him Scooby-Doo? I understand wanting a more grounded origin story, but there has to be a balance. The fun of Scooby-Doo has always been that the mysteries were serious enough to create tension while Scooby and Shaggy kept things light. Right now, this sounds like a mystery show that happens to include a Great Dane.

The real surprise to me is that they made Scooby the least Scooby-like part of the show. I expected changes because every reboot does something different, but turning him into just a normal dog is a strange choice. The franchise has ghosts, monsters, talking dogs, and weird inventions. Realism was never the reason people watched Scooby-Doo. I can accept younger versions of Fred, Daphne, Velma, and Shaggy. I just can't understand why the title character seems to have lost his personality.

I grew up with Scooby-Doo reruns, and one thing I always appreciated was that Scooby felt like part of the gang. He wasn't a pet that followed them around. He had opinions, reactions, and moments where he saved the day despite being terrified. Reading this makes me feel like they're reducing him to an accessory. Maybe the show itself will be good, but I don't understand why so many adaptations think they need to remove familiar traits to make characters feel fresh. Sometimes people like those traits because they're the reason they became attached to the character in the first place.

I laughed when I read that Scooby will probably just stand there. That image alone is funny to me because it sounds so awkward. Imagine everyone running around solving clues while Scooby is acting like someone's neighbor's puppy. I know adaptations change things, but this feels like making Garfield hate lasagna. Maybe it'll surprise me, but based on what's been described so far, I'm struggling to understand the creative decision.

I'm willing to give it a chance because bad descriptions don't always mean a bad show. I've seen projects that sounded terrible on paper and ended up being enjoyable. Still, the concern from fans makes sense. Scooby-Doo isn't only about mysteries. It's also about the chemistry between the gang and the chaos Scooby and Shaggy bring into every situation. If that energy is missing, then even a well-made series could end up feeling like something else wearing the Scooby-Doo name.

I feel like people are forgetting Scooby-Doo has been rebooted like a million times already. Some versions are goofy, some are darker, some are more mystery-heavy. So I’m not shocked they’re trying something different again. The younger cast actually makes sense for an origin setup. What I’m unsure about is the direction they’re taking Scooby himself. If he’s just a normal puppy reacting to things, then the show might lose that unique balance between comedy and mystery. Scooby’s personality is kind of the heart of the franchise, not just the plot device. I’ll still check it out though because sometimes trailers make things look worse than they are.
