“Sector 7” is such an underrated gem! The mix of sci-fi and horror on an oil rig really brings a unique twist to the genre. I love how it captures the claustrophobic tension of being trapped at sea, and the creature design is super intriguing. Plus, the action sequences are intense, especially when you think about how they filmed those scenes with all the water and machinery.

I find it interesting to compare this to Western monster films like “The Abyss” or even “Cloverfield.” They share that same sense of dread but approach the storytelling differently, often focusing more on character development while Korean films can lean heavily into action and spectacle.

Have you rewatched it recently? I think it deserves a second look, especially with how much discussions on creature features have evolved! What’s your favorite part of the film?
